spara
When you log on as invisible, can you show up as a kibitzer during a game or while watching the vugraph? I've noticed names in white while on vugraph- are they logged on as invisible? Can you change your invisibility status once you are logged on?Can you appear in any friends lists while you are invisible? thanks! spara
ack_hh
You are invisible - even for those who marked you as "Friend" -as long as you do not join a table as player or as spectator. To become visible you have to log off and log in again.
JRG
I believe you will be visible in a Chatroom as well. Essentially, "invisibility" means you are not visible in the lobby, but will be visible in any activity you engage in (i.e. as mentioned, play or kibitz at a table, join a chatroom, etc.)
Deanrover
From the next version, when you log on as invisible and kibitz vugraph, BBO users will not be able to see you. Except yellows, who can see everything :-)
rona_
Talking about yellows, why would a yellow log in invisibly and then play in a tournament where everyone can see he is yellow. Can you not log in under the same nick, and not be yellow? Actions of yellows confuse me at times. I understand that they can't be available all the time, and that they would like a game of bridge too, but then why log in as yellow...Maybe someone would be kind enough to explain. As to allowing TDs to go to tables invisibly, (suggested in another forum), that might not be a great idea. Yellows can enter Invisibly, private clubs, private tables, and in fact anywhere they like on bbo, except for private chat rooms. Some people might already consider that an invasion of privacy.
inquiry
There is very little reason for a yellow to ever log on as invisible. The purpose of being yellow is to be easily identified so that you can be of help... sort of the sole purpose for being a yellow. As a yellow, I log on as invisible in only three situations. 1) I am only jumping on to check to see if someone I need to talk to with is on line, or to check starting time for vugraph/tournement or something. I plan to be on line for no more than minute or two. 2) I plan to log a team match, vugraph, etc, but will not monitoring the program (working or out of the room) for most if not all the time. 3) To investigate a specific pair or person for cheating or borish behavior so I can watch them without them knowing I am watching. When I want to log on and play and not be hassled.. I use a different name than inquiry... one more suited to my abilities.. Ben
