shyams
[hv=d=w&v=n&s=skt962hajdkjtcj54]133|100|Scoring: MPDealer passes and partner opens 1♥. RHO overcalls 1♠. Now what? Additional question: If partner bids 2X instead of a re-opening double, what hand would you expect for partner?[/hv]
Codo
We hav 24+ HCPS, we have 5 strong trumps over the trumps. They are vul,we are not.Christmas.. I pass confidently if partner reopens with 2 of a suit, I normally drive to 3 Nt or 4 ♥ opposite his one or two suiter.
Free
They are vul,we are not. I think you got it wrong. Dealer is West, NS vul, dealer passes (W), partner opens (N).
JLOGIC
I'd just go with 3N
aguahombre
I think it might be easier to take nine tricks on offense than ten on defense most of the time. Then there are other times where we could be defending for 50 cents per undertrick.
pooltuna
I'd just go with 3N yeah it's tough to hold E/W to 3 tricks or fewer but my IMP tendencies take over and it is real hard not to pass the reopening X
hanp
Definitely 3NT at these colors.
whereagles
As Codo. We got a near-sure 500, with chances of 800.
peachy
When we are vul and they are not, this is a 3NT bid. For Pass and then convert opener's re-opening double, need assurance that we get 1S down 4 or that the vulnerability is reversed; this hand cannot be sure that 1S goes four down. Edit: Just read a good point by aquahombre. What if partner does not reopen...
