Regardless of what you say, LHO rebids 5D, and partner doubles again. Now what?
nigel_k
3♠ and pass.

Siegmund
Funny. It must be a style thing what exactly 3S shows for different partnerships. I would bid 2S with this, myself, to show a good positive hand; and my second choice would be to jump to 4S (maybe even my first choice, with a few rather stodgy partners.) I'd never bid 3S with it, because I'd expect that to show a hand more like Q-7 xx xxx x -- warning partner not to carry on to game with just a good 16, but only with a rockcrusher. This is a hand that WANTS to get to game if partner has a good fit for spades. Over 5D, I have to pass. I'd have taken the push to 4 obviously. aguahombre
2♠ or 4♠...then live with the choice --no more calls from me if opener competes. Probably 4.

JLOGIC
2♠ and we're done. Done? I'm definitely bidding over 3 of something by the opps!
gnasher
Funny. It must be a style thing what exactly 3S shows for different partnerships. Yes. There was a thread about it a year or two ago. I'd bid 3♠, showing a hand that's like a 2♠ bid but better.
peachy
2S. This is too strong for 3S.
the hog
7 loser hand? 4S and pass.
Fluffy
you can never be very wrong bidding 4M with 6 cardsopposite a take otu double, but the hand is very flat today, and I am content with 3♠. 2♠ is out for me as it shows exactly 4 spades (rarely 5) Next is pass for sure. Codo
I would like to bid 3,75 ♠ as this is out, I try 4.The next one is the easiest descission ever: pass.
quiddity
Why is the decision to pass 5♦-X so easy? What sort of hands do you expect from LHO and partner?
aguahombre
Why is the decision to pass 5♦-X so easy? What sort of hands do you expect from LHO and partner? From Partner, I expect a hand which saw my 4S bid and doesn't want to see a 5S bid. What LHO has is his problem.
pooltuna
I call 2♠ which should be the equivalent of a constructive raise; 3♠ would be a limit raise equivalent. I pass over 5♦x due to the outstanding distribution of my non♠ suits

From Partner, I expect a hand which saw my 4S bid and doesn't want to see a 5S bid. What LHO has is his problem. So you play partner's pass over 5♦ as forcing? I guess that's reasonable since RHO is likely to be broke.
kayin801
2♠ and we're done. Done? I'm definitely bidding over 3 of something by the opps!Well yeah, but OP said the next bid was 5♦ after that :P
