(1) Pass. Any game seems to need fairly specific cards, and we probably don't have any way to investigate which game is best.

(2) Pass. I've no reason to think we were making four hearts, or that they're going down. [edited after the auction was corrected]

(3) I use my systemic method for showing a balanced slam try with five clubs. If I don't have one of those, maybe I should have?

1. pass, obvious

2. double, it is mps and I guess that both strechted and 3 is the limit.

3. I would ask for a fit if possible. If I cannot find a fit, I would invite with 4 NT.

lol, this was one of jdonns first threads when he had no BBF cred and luis was god :P Also it was my first time posting after "quitting the forums (LOL)" for the first time haha.

In the meantime, you came back once more after quitting, and jdonn still has no cred.

IMO...
  1. _P = 10, _X = 7.
  2. _P = 10, _X = 8.
  3. Show = 10, 6N = 9, 4N = 6.

What makes worth showing- its not a great shape to give an option on contract

On the third one? Ax AKxx Axxx KQx or Axx AKxxx Ax KQx would make them worth showing, wouldn't it? Showing clubs doesn't compel you to play in the suit.

Furthermore, if partner had AKQx AKQx Axx xx, he might want to know that his hand wasn't quite as good as it looks.

maybe with singleton ace  and those clubs then it maybe  a decent alternative.

If I had five clubs and a singleton ace, I'd also have a second suit, so I'd show both suits.

Guess i should reveal what happened...

board 1, i doubled and conceeded 3x tick, lesson learnt...

board 2, i doubled and collected 300 - accept this wasn't a great action but p saved me with more defence than he might have had...

board 3, I had AKQ Axxx AJTx KJ so accepted p's invite, they didn't lead a so it rolled home - if my hand can be this good and it still be "no play" (much more likely to go off at imps as the opening leader would have probably lead away from his KJT9?) should we be just inviting or even not inviting unless you have methods to show the exact hand type?
