I would have opened 1♠ planning to jump shift in diamonds. Your partner has a tough decision over 3♠; tough not to bid 4♣ even with the spade fit. 4♦ seems normal now that we've headed down this road. The rest of it seems very wrong but 7♠ was reasonable.
