Bbradley62
3N and IMPs, pass at MP.
Siegmund
I pass at both forms of scoring, but I do open more weak semibalanced hands up front than many others on the forum. I expect this invitation is going to be based on 10 more often than 11 (12 is all but impossible for me), with the idea that the 2S raise was 12-15ish, and the 14/15s want to be reaching game. JLOL
3NT wtp? Oh he's a passed hand..... ok switch to pass at mps. lol you have a yarb. I'm in for 3N vul at imps just because fck it I have 13 and a few spot cards and I won't play 2N! but I would def pass white at imps and def at MP. jdonn
Sorry for disagreeing with you not vul at imps. I need the 655321 invincibility cloak to disagree with you at all except vul at imps apparently!
JLOL
Sorry for disagreeing with you not vul at imps. I need the 655321 invincibility cloak to disagree with you at all except vul at imps apparently! 655321 will play it better than you :( Oh, partner is declaring, well presumably someone of 655321s ability will have a better partner than you then! Also I didn't think you disagreed with me since the specified vul was VUL, and you said pass at MP 3N at imps which is the same as me! But damn you and your children if you bid white at imps! Phil
3N. 655321 and JLOL don't play in my games. Josh is on lead but didn't double so I rate to make since spades are breaking well.
jdonn
This auction is very different oh wise one. Besides, rumor is you were cold for game on that hand :(
whereagles
So you have 24 and an 8 card suit. Easy 3NT. Why complicate what is simple? Maybe pass and MPs if I need a top, but other than that, it's really a no brainer.

gnasher
I'd just bid 3♠, at any form of scoring. Those nines and sevens are, in fact, nines and sevens rather than jacks and tens. Maybe this is something to do with what I think a minimum opening bid looks like. Regarding the strain, partner might have a quacky, notrump oriented hand, but I don't. There may be deals where it's right to play 2NT when you have an 8-card major-suit fit, but I doubt if this is one of them. Having a trump suit means that when they play the 13th card in a suit it will give me a ruff and discard, rather than simply being a winner. Codo
I like the Andy effect... 3 ♠.
Cyberyeti
Do you really want to be in game opposite say: xxxx, xxx, KQx, AKx or KQJx, Jxx, KJx, Jxx and these are far from the worst hands partner can hold, I'd have opened both of these, but then I play a 12-14 no trump. Whether you want to play in spades or no trumps is arguable, but pass or 3S please. What Gnasher says is true, but it's entirely feasible that spades and no trumps take the same number of tricks as you're effectively throwing 2 losers on the 13th card of a suit they cash. KQxx, xxx, xxx, AKx might be such a hand, if D are 4-3 or 5-2 you have 8 tricks assuning the spades break in 2N or 3S, with a 50% chance of a ninth in spades, but the chance of a heart lead (possibly away from the ace) in no trumps.
