evaluation...

I had no clue how to evaluate any of 4 the suits in play, all seemed a bit offensive, and a bit deffensive as well, all the 4 partially better given the bidding, but not necesarilly.

We are vulnerable, partner deals.

well one thing is clear you have useful honors in all suits where partner rates to hold 3 as it appears that he has a singleton or void in

Patton (IMPs+BAM)

I'll just bid 4 then. I think there is a good chance Leftie bids 5 and we get rich. I'm not going to aim for both 4M contracts going down at IMP or partial IMP but maybe at pairs that's best....

I have a solitary queen in the two suits bid by partner. That doesn't doesn't seem very offensive.

I also have the king of a suit bid on my right, and where parter is likely to be short. That seems quite defensive.

Finally, I have the king of a suit where partner probably has two or three cards. That seems more defensive than not.

The only thing that suggests bidding is the extra trump. That's counterbalanced by the relative shortage in partner's second suit.

I'd double. (Edit: or maybe pass is right. BUt I'm not bidding 4.)

If we're in a force I want to pass. If not I'll bid 4 only because of the vulnerability and I think they'll save a lot with their spade shortness. It's sort of tactical though since at any other vul I'd double, we have the king of hearts and diamond shortness.

Double and lead the Q.

The 4th spade is nice for spades but the off-suit kings and diamond shortness point to defending.

edit: I've never played in a Patton event, but double looks 100% clear at BAM, and only so-so at IMPs.

you lead your singleton diamond, on wich partner wins K and next plays A, declarer playing 2 and 3, what card do you play at trick 2? (UDCA)

I join the 4 camp. I have the K, the doubleton Q and 4 trumps, what else do I need!?

Edit: I gotta start checking the whole topic before answering. I think partner's bidding is flawed, either he has to pass the X, bid 3, open 1, or not open at all. It's also my fault for not having an ace...
