aguahombre
I'm passing, we have at least two club losers. AKQxxKQxxxxxx My guess is close to this, but our picture jumps don't have an outside control, even in a suit partner has bid. So, (2-3) in minors, or 5-4-2-2. I know there were other ways to show four hearts, but responder might have chosen this route with everything concentrated in the majors. No Club control, pass. ONEferBRID
This could be a "dangerous" splinter. We had a similar looking sequence in a recent post back on April 1, 2010 : http://forums.bridgebase.com/index.php?showtopic=38337&st=15 It was:1♣ Pass 1♦ Pass1♥ Pass 4♣ = splinter for Hts Justin ( Jlal ) argued that the 4th Suit forcing bid was NOT used, it made the 4C double-jump a splinter for the last bid suit ( Hts ).- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Thus, by the same argument the 4th suit GF ( 3C!) was not used ( as well as the other alternatives including 1H - 4H ) for this sequence: 1H-1S2D-4H = splinter for Diam. gwnn
I guarantee you 100% that 4♥ was not a splinter.
hanp
Now people here are so sophisticated that they have to ask what a bridge 101 game bid means?

kayin801
Heart limit with 4+ spades that got better with diamond fit, like AJxx, Kxx, Qxxx, xx or thereabouts. I wouldn't look into this too much.
hanp
doesn't have to be such a hand, may just be AQxxx Kxx xx Kxx.

Agree. Jumps to game should either show limit raises that were improved by opener's call (fitting honor(s) or shortness) or minimum-ish GF. Otherwise opener can be boxed and has to guess whether or not to continue with middlish hands (15-16 or so).
Bbradley62
not sure what partner is doing! He is ending the auction in game of your first suit, having shown his best suit in case either that was a better fit or he could upgrade his hand on the basis of a double fit. Cascade
4♥ is a three card raise with game values. With a better hand partner goes through fourth suit forcing. Occasionally we could miss a good slam when partner doesn't realize his hand is gold. Here for example: ♠ xxxx♥ KQx♦ Qxx♣ KQJ would be a slam but partner won't be thinking this is good. I suppose some may choose not to bid this four card spade suit especially if you have a better way to show a three card raise.
