Strong 2C Opening Hand

I had a strong 2C balanced opening hand (22HCP), the player on my right opened with 2D. What should I have done?

I had a Strong 2C balanced opening hand (22 HCP), balanced.  The player on my right opened with 2D.  What should I have bid?

without seeing the hand I would guess that X is the most likely correct action altho some slam or near slam bids could be right as well

Hey, welcome!

If you held a semi-balanced hand with a trick source - Kx Ax AQx AKQxxx you could shoot out 3N. I would also trade a high card for a 7th club.

If I had a lot of diamonds and the opponents were vulnerable, I might pass too - AK Kx KQTxx AKxx

Otherwise double is surely indicated.

I don't remember the rest of cards, but good.  The 2D bid was a weak bid.  Since I didn't know what to do, I bid 3C.  My partner passed.

the problem with 3 is that you might bid [hv=s=saxhkxdxxxckqjtxx]133|100|[/hv]

the same and this is too wide a variation
