Fluffy
first hand of the european bridge championships, you pick ♠Kxxx♥Axx♦KQ♣Axxx Nobody vul, you quickly open a 15-17 1NT while you explain to the caddy who is gonna score the hands for you (actually an old lady) how the bridgemate works and what she is suposed to do, and the trolley comes back 1NT-p-2♥-3♦ Now you look again at your hand and something has happened, the hand that came sorted suit by suit didn't really come suit by suit. ♠Kxxx♥AKQxx♦-♣Axxx take it from there. Apollo81
4♦. Since this is an impossible bid, partner should realize that something unusual is happening, although he won't play me for this good a hand. If he bids 4♠, I'll pass and blame missing a cold slam on my handsorting error.
jdonn
I might just bid 6♠, obviously we won't be having an intelligent auction from here. Even Qxxxx of spades and out gives me some kind of play if they don't find a club lead.
wank
i'd wheel out exclusion - partner's never going to believe you've got this collections so there's no point making some sort of cooperative cuebid.
mikeh
I might just bid 6♠, obviously we won't be having an intelligent auction from here. Even Qxxxx of spades and out gives me some kind of play if they don't find a club lead.Agreed. In fact, we might make opposite as little as xxxxx Jx xxx xxx. Reminds me of a hand my partner held in a far less important event about 10 years ago. He opened 1N with some 4=4 in the reds, only to realize partway through that both reds were diamonds. We survived somehow, but the opps, who missed their huge heart fit, were less amused.
Cyberyeti
This reminds me of picking up something like Axxx, KJx, xx, KQxx, so I open a weak no trump, partner responds 2H transfer, and at this point I realise I have 4 clubs, 2 diamonds, three hearts and 4 clubs. If I'm feeling brave I bid 5D, otherwise 4D on your hand.

Playing a weak NT my partner opened 1NT and after the opponents overcalled in hearts!!! he discovered he had two four-card spade suits and rebid 4♠ on his own. jjbrr
I can't say I've ever done anything like this. I'd just bid 6♠. I thought about 5♦ exclusion, and I think partner should figure out exactly what happened, but as jdonn says, it's sort of nice if the opponents have no clue what's going on. aguahombre
More important is to make sure Partner doesn't think he knows what is going on. give CHO fewer chances to think with 6♠ immediately

whereagles
I would bid 3♥, on grounds that pard might be able to do something clever over LHO's possible 4/5♦, after which I'll be in an ok position. And gonzalo, the best way to impress ladies (old or young lol) is to win ahah
Fluffy
This problem arised on my team mates table, The player hee picked 5NT, partner didn't know wtf was going on and bid 6♥ with AJxxxxxxAxxxx 7 spades went undoubled, the bridge god wasn't rewarding this time, but he was forgiving, spades 4-0, hearts 4-1, 7 spades went down 4, for -200 only 3 imps against 6 spades -
billw55
It is because of occasional weirdness like this that I have become a proponent of four color cards. Mis-sorts vanish almost entirely, as do revokes.
helene_t
I would bid 6♠. If I bid 4♦ p will just take me forAxxxx-AJx-Kx-Axxso that will lead to nowhere. Maybe he will understand 5♦ though.
gwnn
as do revokes. lol. (my only revoke in live bridge that I remember occurred with a 4 colour deck - I wanted to play my little heart but just took out another card)
