Hanoi5
White vs Red: ♠Txxx♥x♦AKQxxx♣Jx Partner deals and passes, RHO opens 1♥, is this a take out double? It went: P-1♥-X-2NT (limit support)3♦-5♦-??? How would you continue?
jdonn
I don't understand doubling on this at all.
CSGibson
I would bid 2♦.
kayin801
I know I want to make a takeout double so partner leads towards my spades if LHO ends up declaring!
jjbrr
2♦
gwnn
double sucks.
rogerclee
I think if you double with this hand you probably play some kind of ELC, which would make it reasonable (correct, IMO) to make a takeout double.
aguahombre
I assumed ELC, and still could not bring myself to double with that kind of disparity in quality between the two suits and that little overcall strength.
Fluffy
partner being a passed hand this is an easy 3♦ for me.

It went: P-1♥-X-2NT (limit support)3♦-5♦-??? How would you continue? Q1] Only by agreement, certainly not standard as this will require major modification to your TOX structure to avoid getting screwed on more common hands. Q2] 2♦ seems to be the most logical choice IMO.
Hanoi5
How would you continue on the given auction? Assuming opener's 5♦ as an exclusion KC.
hanp
I would not double even when playing ELC.
Gerben42
I have ♦, I will bid ♦. This seems clear.
aguahombre
How would you continue on the given auction? Assuming opener's 5♦ as an exclusion KC.Would wish I had overcalled the first time, and that partner had taken away exclusion from their tools by bidding 5D. Also, I would be out of the auction, content I have done my job. The hidden text auction makes the original double even uglier than it originally was. But now, I must continue masterminding with a 6♦ call, when partner is the one who should have been making (or creating) guesses.
rogerclee
I would just bid 6D but would never sell out to 6H.
jdonn
I assumed ELC, and still could not bring myself to double with that kind of disparity in quality between the two suits and that little overcall strength. Good judgment I think, we are unlikely to miss a spade game after 2♦ since if partner has enough we can probably find spades anyway. If we were a bit stronger I could see more point to double playing ELC.
ArtK78
partner being a passed hand this is an easy 3♦ for me. I am surprised that this is the only vote for 3♦ so far. Opposite a passed non-vul partner it seems to me that 3♦ is the right call.
Hanoi5
I saw it here: http://tinyurl.com/266cw3n And I was told by some that it was alright...I wonder why it changed when I presented it here...
