Partner deals and passes, RHO opens 1, is this a take out double?

It went:

P-1-

X-2NT (limit support)

3-5-???

How would you continue?

Q1] Only by agreement, certainly not standard as this will require major modification to your TOX structure to avoid getting screwed on more common hands.

Q2] 2 seems to be the most logical choice IMO.

How would you continue on the given auction? Assuming opener's 5 as an exclusion KC.

Would wish I had overcalled the first time, and that partner had taken away exclusion from their tools by bidding 5D. Also, I would be out of the auction, content I have done my job. The hidden text auction makes the original double even uglier than it originally was.

But now, I must continue masterminding with a 6 call, when partner is the one who should have been making (or creating) guesses.

I assumed ELC, and still could not bring myself to double with that kind of disparity in quality between the two suits and that little overcall strength.

Good judgment I think, we are unlikely to miss a spade game after 2 since if partner has enough we can probably find spades anyway. If we were a bit stronger I could see more point to double playing ELC.

partner being a passed hand this is an easy 3 for me.

I am surprised that this is the only vote for 3 so far. Opposite a passed non-vul partner it seems to me that 3 is the right call.
