mohitz
IMPs, you hold ♠Kx ♥Kxxxx ♦Kx ♣ JTxx The auction uncontested goes 1♦ - 1♥ - 1NT to you. In your style, do you invite with this hand? If vul matters, say so.

MarkDean
Pass for me.
aguahombre
No invite. But our style would rebid 2H because of some inferences which increase the probability of an 8 card fit.

Siegmund
No. Even with another jack it wouldn't be 100% clear to invite for me, but that's playing a style where there are a LOT of good 11s in our 1-level openings. I would expect with that extra jack that most people in most styles would invite.
whereagles
Clear invite in my book. Perhaps not at MPs but definitely so at IMPs.
campboy
Clear GF in my style. Seriously, though, this isn't a system-specific forum. If I'm playing SA or something similar, pass.
andy_h
Game can be very good or very bad. If it was NV then it's pretty clear to sign off in 2♥. If it was vul though, I think I would still sign off as we need too many perfect cards for partner especially in terms of clubs and hearts (intermediate cards too like the ♥10 or ♣10). ggwhiz
My pard and I don't open any 11's or quite a few 12's that are flat 1nt re-bids unlike most. Makes it closer for me but I would still like to see a couple more 98's or 10's before I would invite.
mikeh
This is a clear non-invite. It is less clear whether this is a 2♥ signoff or a pass. If you belong to a school that permits 1N on 3=1=5=4 or the like (or on 3=1=4=5, if you insist on misbidding (joke)), then 2♥ is definitely out. As it is, I usually bid 2Major but this is a hand for passing 1N...maximal hcp, weak(ish) suit, stuff on the side. Inviting MIGHT reach a magic game or a game making on misdefence, but has several ways to lose and only one way to win. We may reach the wrong game...we may be in 4♥ when 3N makes or vice versa, so even when he has the magic hand, we may lose. We may be too high in 2N or 3♥. Again, we may reach the wrong partial....while 1N may also be 'wrong' it rates to be a minus only rarely. Partner will often accept the invitation on hands that offer no realistic play for game. bluecalm
2♥ for me. It makes more often and gains more points on average than 1NT so it's right at both imps and mp's (unless 1NT didn't promise 2♥). I might invite if playing polish club (because 1♦ is 5+cards there).Opposite better minor I don't think it's worth an invite but I think this hand is not that far away from it.
