billw55
Do you mean all the double cards missing from bidboxes? Or something from actual play? ;)

Phil
King Phil the Generous still wants to win tournaments, and if my loyal subjects play C: and D:, I will have a better chance. However, I will instruct the royal printer to change the "Defense to 1N Openings" from all those silly suit symbols to four tickboxes that say: NaturalLandyMulti-LandyWoolsey
aguahombre
Voted for (against) the stolen bid doubles. But, would allow them only if not accompanied by the usual BIT's and body language which make them clear. Everything else listed is fine by me for the opponents to use --and not fine by me to use. gnasher
Am I allowed to go off-menu? If I were in charge, the first conventions up against the wall would be:- Mini splinters- Transfer superaccepts that say somethng about a side-suit- Support redoubles- "Game-forcing" two-over-one responses that aren't game-forcing- 2-way Drury (actually I plagiarised this particular dislike)
aguahombre
- Support redoubles Absolutely. The call which returns the favor back to the opponents who took up none of our bidding room, by taking up none of their bidding room.
pooltuna
The scariest words in all of bridge are "You play Stolen Bid doubles, don't you dearie..."....says my RHO and I respond "NO WAY JOSE, but you are welcome to use them B) "
Siegmund
Wow, this is tough. Flannery, Drury, and Stolen Bid are all things I would hate to ever be forced to play... but my opps who play stolen bid do give me a lot of tops, and flannery is more or less harmless, so I had to vote for Drury. And of course if I catch up with whoever made such a useful and straightforward convention as Wilkosz Brown Sticker, he's going to vanish into the dungeons for a long time. Codo
Forbid Ghestem, any convention its inventor forgets should be banished first. +1 No need to ban the rest. They can use these conventions all day long.
jeremy69
I voted Rule of 20 which does not add to the sum of human knowledge but would certainly have voted for Ghestem given the chance. It would end 40 appeals per year and remove the need for several thousand forms showing how players fielded their partners bid ostensibly showing spades and diamonds when it was actually a WJO to be stored."I remembered it was Ghestem the second I bid it with my six clubs and a weak hand. Of course my partners alert did not wake me up!"

gnasher
Stolen bid doublesWhat does this mean?It means that you double to say "I wanted to bid that". As one might expect, the value of this varies according to the auction. For example (1♣) 1♥ (2♥) dblusing double to show a raise to 2♥ is sensible and obvious. Similarly, many people would play 1NT (2♣) dblas Stayman. On the other hand, this double: 1♥ (4♦) dblis probably not best used as a splinter. helene_t
Trbltrbl once made two threads, "What is the worst convention?" and "What about the best convention?". I don't think Stayman and t/o doubles came up in the "worst" thread, but other than that, all conventions that I have ever heard of were nominated for both.
