All vul, IMPs, you deal and

p - (p) - 1 - (p)

?

You have fit jump and one way drury raise available. No splinters. Partner has 5 spades most of the times. Could be light but not by much.

HIDDEN:

If you bid 3, partner bids 3. If you Drury, partner bids 2

whatever the equivalent of a 4 card limit raise is

So for you, Phil, a 3 level fit jump is forcing to game?

? no. I simply said, "pard will bid it".

Yeah. You said

My FJ is designed to help pard evaluate for slam, not game.
And if "pard will bid it [game]", well, I guess I don't understand what's going on here. Why would he bid game over a game try, if he's minimum? And if it's a slam try (by agreement) doesn't that imply that going to game is a predetermined conclusion? I guess what I'm asking is what does partner's rebid below game (or even below 3M) mean?

The responsibility for communication is with the sender, so I'll see if I can make myself more clear, however, please try to read what I am saying instead of looking for messages which are not there.

Previously I never said whether or not I was always bidding game. But R/R at IMPs, I will take the push to 4 myself, but you shouldn't take any inference in that statement that a 3 level FJ is GF.

I think partner might be interested in slam due to my opponent's silence. This isn't necessarily the case, but I do believe that a fit jump will help partner evaluate minor suit aces, and heart length or intermediates. This is in contrast to 2, or a splinter.

This, however, does not make 3 a slam try. It merely means that if partner is interested in slam, that my call is more descriptive.

I would take 1 - 3 - 3 red as just initially a game try.

I would take 1 - 3 - 4 as probably a help suit slam try, but it might be cuebidding on the way to RKC too.
