Two from the club

Recommended Posts

1)puppet stayman; I think passing with such hands is bad. If there is 8/9 card fit playing in 2NT is disaster while playing 3NT can't be that much worse on average than 2NT.

So I bid 3 planning to play 4 if 4+ is found and signing off in 3NT otherwise.

I would say passing at imps is terrible; passing at MP's is just a mistake, probably not that costly.

2)2 if that's natural, why would I bid 1 which isn't even forcing ? Now I bid 4 and then show my void whatever method I play and bid grand opposite AKQ, 6 otherwise.

1. 3. In my experience people overbid these hands and we will often take an extra trick in the play so I'm not willing to take a position so early in the hand that risks an unavoidable bad score.

2. Prefer 2 to 1, though after partner's 3 we would still be unsure how to decide which red suit we should be playing. Will bid 3 over 2.

3 which is forcing, I would pass with weak hands- if 3 is not forcing, I try 3 .

3 , why fail to make 2 NT if we can fail to make 4 Heart?

3 forcing?!!?!?!????!!!?!?!?!!!?!!????!!!

What shall I say?

We really play it as forcing, works in the system we play.

Without this agreement I had choosen 3 to force...
