Parcial results in torneys

Hi,

 

Suggestion: Software can calculate averages each round, and we can then seee in movie at end of each round. Didnt look dificult.

That already exist. When the tourment is set up, one option is to run as a "barometer" game, which means eveyone will see their scores each round.

In current server, only Swiss/Survivor use Barometer scoring.

Barometer is also an option for any team game.

 

Next server supports Barometer for clocked pair/indy movements. I am toying with trying to make barometer work for unclocked movements, but am grappling with what that means (ie, when i should compute and send scores out, since different pairs are on different rounds at the same time)

 

I don't know when i will install the next server. Probably not for at least a week - I have more new code to add ( for pay-teaching table support)

I suggest don't waiste time for barometer scoring for unclocked tourneys. Sending new scores to everyone when a board is finished seems to consume too much bandwidth. And if you delay sending results until all pairs have finished a board, the results will be delayed a lot for the fast tables.

I just go thru testing unclocked barometer; i rescore/resend when all tables finish a round, so it wont be too much bandwidth. So if you are fast, you might be on round 9 before you get the barometer results for round 6. Oh well, I dont care much :lol:

I think we have not understood Adriano properly.

 

We get the deal results as we finish each round. However we do not have the cumulative IMP's or cumulative MP's after each round change. One way to get an idea in a Swiss event is to see in which table you are playing. This will give an rough cut idea where you stand in the overall standings at the end of that round.

 

Adriano probably wants to see the actual cumulative IMP or actual cumulative MP at the end of each round. In IMP's it is just addition, so this can be done manually also, whereas in MP's you will need a calculator. If this can be automated and displayed , it be useful .

 

e.g

 

Deal 1 - 65%

Deal 2 - 50%

End of Round 1 - cumulative MP is 57.5%

 

Deal 3 - 48%

Deal 4 - 82%

End of Round 2 - cumulative MP is 61.25%

 

Taking this one step further, if we can also see the list of players with current cumulative MP's / IMP's , then it will be a great leap forward. I think I am asking too much. This is what is on offer at e-bridge.

When the next server goes in, players will be able to see their own results, but not the leaderboard. Interesting thought, though.

My idea was like Dwingo understand. The mean. When i am playing and waiting for next rounds, i am always making my cumulative imps or matchpoints mean. If BBO make this for me, i can see more tv :-)
