CSGibson
I don't recall meeting is all. Your teammates played against JoAnne and Ed while you and Meg played against Atul and me. Don't feel bad, though, I didn't meet your teammates either.
Phil
I was only at the Portland Regional for a few days to attend the final Reno NABC planning meeting and then I played with Ed Freeman on Chris's KO team as a substitute. BTW California has been rocking and rolling the last few days: http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/rec...quakes_all.html Earthquakes are fun. We had a shaker at about Monday night at 9:30. I played in my usualy swiss at Laguna Woods and was into about 5 tricks in a slightly tricky 3N. My RHO wanted to run outside. I'm like eh, whatever, just play. :D
jillybean
Hi I'm back from Penticton, exhausted after a fantastic 5 daysI arrived for the first game Monday and played a total of 13 games over the next 4 days. I can tell my game is getting better playing this number of games at this level. The best session was playing in one of the top bracketed knockouts, the game is completely different at this level compared to where I usually play. Here I scored a -1600 after an undisciplined, vulnerable 2D overcall that went wrong. The opps maximise every mistake you make and give no gifts. Another team I was on (<1000MP) made it to the finals of another bracketed knock out. At half way we were leading by 27 but ended up loosing by 12. I might find some interesting hands from the pairs games to post, I'd have more if we had hand records for the team matches. :) I'll be back next year! billw55
played a total of 13 games over the next 4 days  B) :o I would be surprised if I could follow suit after so many sessions in so short a time. For me keeping it to two sessions a day makes a huge difference - I feel like I could go for a long time at that pace. Three-a-days kill me though. Well done! mycroft
Yes, but did you play in my "midnight" KO?
jillybean
I am sure 3 sessions a day isn't optimal but when I have the chance of a game with a good partner, it's hard to turn down. At least this time I didn't have 3 games and an hour commute to the venue :) No, I didn't play the midnight knockouts I was in bed by then, replaying hands in my head. IMP leaue finals tonight and I won't make the mistake of 'playing safe' if we are ahead at the break.
