Free
4♠ is a stupid call, East should Dbl this imo.

gnasher
I blame the player who bid 5♥ with more than half of his points in the enemy suit.
gwnn
fair enough, the pleasure is on both sides then 2♠: a little controversial with 87.5% of your strength outside spades but pass is not a solution, so it's OK I guess. I would definitely do it at favourable.(I would not do it at all V, the original conditions)3♥: perfect3♠: ??? it's rarely right to raise a weak two on honour doubleton and this is surely not an exception!! you have aces outsideeee and cards everywhereeee. I would be OK with bidding 3S if 2♠ showed spades and clubs or something, otherwise it's perfectly useless.4♥: fine4♠: WTF. this is the most defensive weak two in the history of the world. WHY BID???5♥: I don't want to misuse percentages but you have 58.3% of the hcp and 50% of the Tens in SPADES. don't bid 5 over 4!!! double 4♠! 4♠ is a retarded bid so double it!! oh no, don't bid over retarded bids unless you REALLY KNOW what you're doing! updated for the new conditions
jjbrr
lol. in addition to what gwnn said, i think if people never bid again after preempting, they really wouldn't come out too badly in the end.
bluecalm
3♠: ??? it's rarely right to raise a weak two on honour doubleton and this is surely not an exception!! you have aces outsideeee and cards everywhereeee. I would be OK with bidding 3S if 2♠ showed spades and clubs or something, otherwise it's perfectly useless. Why useless ? You may want to play in 3♠ and don't allow them to play in 3♥ which is what will often happen if you pass.
gwnn
3♠ useless on this hand since if we make 3♠ they will almost always go down in 3♥. I mean I'm not saying that the former statement is 100% true but that's what I meant by useless.
aguahombre
lol. in addition to what gwnn said, i think if people never bid again after preempting, they really wouldn't come out too badly in the end. In addition to what they both said.......Wait, no additions :D
mikeh
fair enough, the pleasure is on both sides then (nipped)5♥: I don't want to misuse percentages but you have 58.3% of the hcp and 50% of the Tens in SPADES. don't bid 5 over 4!!! double 4♠! 4♠ is a retarded bid so double it!! oh no, don't bid over retarded bids unless you REALLY KNOW what you're doing! I know I am being pedantic, but I can't help myself! Last time I looked at a deck, there was only one 10 of spades, so we seem to have 100% of the Tens in SPADES. I agree with everything else said about the 4 and 5 level actions. I don't mind the bump to 3♠. I hate the weak two opening, tho I confess I might commit it myself white v red...but it really is grotesque. Great playability in 2 side suits, a strong preference for some lead other than spades...ugh. Well, at least, if I play OGUST, I can accurately respond showing a bad suit and a good hand :D

655321
I think gwnn was saying that of the (2) tens East holds, 50% of them are Spade tens (just as, of the 12HCP East holds, 58.3% are Spade HCPs)

gwnn
Did east know he had the AKT of spades? This is almost like dburn's contorted example from the Laws forum: maybe his LHO alerted 2♠ as 2/3 top honours, therefore East concluded that his AK must be in clubs. :D

jdonn
3♠ is bad, I like north's bidding even though most probably wouldn't, and clearly east just doesn't know how to evaluate his hand on an auction like this.

OleBerg
2♠: Obvious for me. The rule: "Don't preempt with two flaws" doesn't apply. The hand has three flaws.3♥: Clearcut. (Isn't it?)3♠: I wouldn't, but I don't know the NS style. And the bid is definitely not useless.4♥: Tough call, but supporting partner is aways a good reason to bid.4♠: Not my choice, but a lot of circumstances could justify it.5♥. Stoopid. whereagles
I'm ok with bidding after a pree (you don't always have a classic pree), but this hand is certainly not the right one to do that lol. That being said, full marks to East, for being jerked off by North's ridiculous bidding :(
