Cute finale from an actual game. Not difficult, but counterintuitive.
Gerardo
Format: maybe FEN better? My take:R:a8 B:a8Nd6King supports a,b pawns against the bishop, black is bottled up.
Lobowolf
Your first two moves are correct (and of course, your continuation would suffice); the somewhat faster (and much prettier) continuation is: (hidden) The king marches up the black squares to e7, keeping the king bottled up, then the N goes to f6 with mate, via either e4 or e8 (the bishop can't guard both for more than one move, and after black's pawn moves are exhausted, only the bishop can move). Black is completely defenseless on the dark squares. It seems odd to trade off white's killer rook on the 7th; Rg7+ followed by some discovery seems to suggest itself.
