hrothgar
The WBF is holding a major event in Philly this October WBF event ---> WBF system regulations ---> one of the few opportunities to test MOSCITO in North America I was thinking of getting back into practice and trying to get a partnership / team together. Curious if anyone might be interested... System core in first / second would be 1C = 15+ 1D = 4+ Hearts, might have logner minor (~ 9 - 14HC)1H = 4+ Spades, might have a longer minor1S = Unbalanced with 4+ Diamonds1N = 11+ - 142C = 6+ Clubs2D = 4+ Diamonds and 4+ cards in either major (~ 5 - 10)2H = 4+ Hearts and (4+ Spades or 5+ Clubs)2S = 6+ Spades or (4+ Spades and 5+ Clubs)2N = Both minors (weak with either minor is not legal) I'm quite rusty at the moment, but willing to practice seriously(I also know all the right places to eat)

Jlall
Not that I think Richard cares but just a heads up for anyone considering this, the entry fees for the world championship events are super high iirc (don't remember what they are exactly, I'm sure you can find it). Hope to see you there Richard!

glen
Mixed pairs would be six sessions for $450 for the pair, or $75 per person per day. If staying in the WBF camp, then its $350 for the pair, or $58.33 per person per day

kenrexford
Actually, the expense is high but not THAT high. I'm playing in the Open Pairs. The event is (hopefully LOL) 15 sessions, which explains why the entries seem like so much. By staying at the "host hotels," the entry fees are about $30/session/player. Since for most of us this level of game only happens once every four years, and since for most of us it is even less often because of the venues often being too far away, this seems like not that much to pay. The host hotels are not that bad, either, considering the location. About $150/night gets you right smack dab in the middle of things. However -- a warning. It seems like the hotels were filling up quickly. When we got our pre-entries and hotel a while back, some of the hotel options were already sold out. so, move quickly if you are thinking about it. Yeah man, not only great bridge experience but EVERYONE (juniors and old people and GIRLS) will be there, and it will be a great time. I cannot emphasize more that pretty much all of my best friends I met through bridge, and most of my greatest memories even not including bridge have come from bridge tourneys. Really glad they're doing this for juniors, hope you show up!
