gerry
[hv=d=n&s=shakjxxdckqjtxxxx]133|100|Scoring: MP1♠-?[/hv] Whats the plan stan... pd will bid ♦ and ♦ again if you go slowly,
Fluffy
my plan would be to bid 2♣ and go slowly trying to find out if partner makes a forward move wich suggests he has got ♣A such as bidding 3NT on his own or something. But since he is unable to coperate and bids 2♦ over 2♣ and 3♦ over 2♥, and opponent's ain't bidding their 9+ card fit again, this all smells that he is void or singleton in clubs. I though I'd just blast 6♣ but upon thinking more.. if he has 4 spades and 6 diamonds 6♣ is gonna be a poor spot. I'd bid 3♥ again and if nothing good happens, bid 5♣ next and give up. Jlall
Whats the vul who are the opps etc. This is basically a poker hand and the vul is very important imo.
Free
probably 6♣, depends on the vulnerability.
the hog
Pd opens 1S and you respond 6C over this? Is pd forbidden from having the A of C and the Q of hearts for his 1S opening bid? Or have the 6C bidders misread the problem and thought the opps open 1S? I think a 2C response is obvious if you want to find out a bit more about the hand. whereagles
I don't think this is biddable with usual methods. I'll just try 2♣, probably to be followed by 6♣, just so that pard doesn't get upset at me for blasting to 6 1st round.
Free
Ah, I thought opps opened 1♠. If partner opened 1♠ this is LOL...
gwnn
Just do whatever you like. It's an 8-5 hand, the point of 8-5 hands is to have fun, it is difficult to make rules and systems and rational choices when it comes to them.

Since this is roughly 55% a case for a direct 6♣ exists

aguahombre
2C, then alert 2D as "waiting". This will establish that I didn't see the 1S opening bid and allow me to set clubs as trump and make asking bids. Equally effective if it was RHO who opened 1S. Fluffy
I though opponents opened sorry, if partner opens stablish clubs as trumps, ask keycards and play 7NT if he has 3.
