peachy Posted May 15, 2010 Report Share Posted May 15, 2010 I am very familiar with this. GIB hates raising. It also hates bidding a major suit on its partner's takeout double. Apparently, in the takeout double situation, by GIB's system, the doubler is expected to "correct" to a major with just minimum TOX and 4-card major. I have been in 3m or 4m so many times when GIB surprisingly shows up with 4-4 in unbid major and the minor it chose to bid, sometimes bidding it twice with no hint of second suit which is the major.
