Does your answer change if the scoring is white/matchpoints or if the opps are vulnerable?
aguahombre
If I could assume no more interference, I could pass, and probably end up in 3 spades. If I wanted to rebid my 6 card club suit, good/bad 2NT would allow it without showing a better hand (resulting in club partial). If I bid 3C on the given auction, partner would still be bidding while the thread was being posted here.
gwnn
pass from N. 3♠ by S and pass again from N. Simple bidding is pleasing to the soul.
awm
I'd double with the south hand after 2♥ passes to me. My spade suit is quite ratty and double keeps open the options of defending 2♥X or playing 2♠ or 3♣. My auction's probably 1♣-1♥-1♠-2♥; P-P-X-P; 3♣-All Pass
rogerclee
Agree with awm, I don't know why people love to show bad 6 card suits on this auction for no reason. You already showed 5+ and partner has 2 or less, it's just unnecessary to jump to 3S and then play a retarded contract opposite small singleton. But Adam's double by South still looks good, even though probably based on those premises.
mikeh
While I don't mind double by S, and far prefer it to any spade bid, I think I'd drive to game via a 3♥ bid. I don't like my hand for defence if partner holds Hxx in hearts and leaves it in, as he is entitled to do (imo). So I'd opt for the overbid and probably reach 5♣...I don't think N should bid 3N on this auction, altho maybe I'm allowing knowledge of the 2 hands to influence me. I suspect we'd reach 5♣, which isn't hopeless. I'd double (for sure) with a small spade moved into the heart suit
the hog
3H for me. By the way, for many people 1S shows only 4S, not 5.
awm
3H for me. By the way, for many people 1S shows only 4S, not 5. Sure, but some percentage of those people play support doubles too. Even if it's possible that partner has three spades on this auction for a pass of 2♥, doubling will just get partner to bid spades in that case, after which we can invite game. 655321
I like the double here, but for me partner should never be passing this double with Hxx. Even with the actual KT32 under the overcaller, passing with this unbalanced hand just looks wrong. If partner bids spades over the double I would bid 4♠. Over 3♣, I might bid 3♥ or might pass, hard to be sure having seen both hands.

But I think you wouldn't anyway, you just don't realize it. :) Agree per partner passing the reopening double with Hxx.
