Host to boot and ban kibs

Recommended Posts

This topic came about as a result of the behaviour of some kibs during the Cayne matches.

When some kibbers misbehave during a match, the only recourse that the table host has is to disallow kibbers altogether.

It would be useful for the table host to not only be able to boot kibbers one at a time, but also to ban them (maybe add them to the enemies list and thereby disallow them from kibbing)

Also to have a checkbox when a new table is created to "Allow kibitzers, but not ones that are enemies"

Those matches are very enjoyable to so many of us..till someone comes and makes derigatory remarks.

Larry the host of the table .is powerless unless he boots ALL of us.

I find it unfair...

Perhaps a format that will allow the host to have A GAg/ with timer..

apparently its a successful way to rid us of the troublemakers.

i hope "something" will be done very soon!

Thanks in Advance

The Cayne matches are unique in the sense that there is a host's representative kibitzing and seeing what kibs say. In normal circumstances the host (or the players) do not see what kibs are saying - and couldn't care less.

BBO has rules. Those who break them should be reported. Then, a yellow boots the individual. Simple enough?

But I still support the idea that a table host should have control of who can kibitz the host's tables at team matches. Not sure how much programming work this would be, and even if it would be only little, I wouldn't see this anywhere near high priority.

I disagree that this situation is unique to teh Cayne matches. I sometimes start a table or host a team match where I allow kibs to communicate openly, which can be real fun among a bunch of likeminded people.

The problem is of course that someone can just come in and wreak havoc, a regular occurence. I'd love to boot and ban them from my table or team match, but cannto do so without banning everybody.

A lot of top players play on BBO and are nice enough to allow kibs. Most people appreciate and enjoy these matches. An example in addition to the cayne matches, is the dearbilly matches. Initially kib chat was free and allowed. And Billy often offered to play 5 hands with some kibs at the end of the matches. Then kibs started abusive chat, and now, while kibs are allowed to watch, there is no kib chat allowed in those matches, and Billy doesn't play with kibs. It would have been far preferrable if particular kibs could have been disallowed, either permanently, or maybe particular kibs even just gagged. In the cayne matches there is constant chatter and banter as well as intelligent discussion and relevant questions asked/answered. There are a few people who are abusive, either to the players, or some benign kibs. Larry has had to stop kibitzing during at least one match because of that. Again it would be preferrable if host could take action against particular kibs. Would that be a lot of work in the software? I seem to recall that MSN gaming zone had something like that available; the ability to boot a particular kib. Thank you for your attention.
