Time zoned tourneys

Recommended Posts

You run a tourney that consists of say 12 (or whatever is agreed)prepared hands that can be repeated 4 times (just a figure out the air) over a course of a 24 hour period to catch people in different time zones.

Then (this may be the hard bit) have the results from the tourneys merged together so you have result board showing your position over all in the 4 tourneys all done with the same hands.

I realise that may be some people could play the hands more than once if they were that way inclined (I am sure no one would really do that)

There may be a coalition of directors needed to do this to cover the different time zone, but thats another issue.

The BIL did this last month !!

Repeated 3 times not 4.

(Bit hard on old girls staying up for 24 hrs -lol)

I would have liked to have been able to have merged the results of all three sessions.

Did not matter if any of the players played in all the sessions. It was set as an Individual and the odds of any one player sitting in the same seat getting the same hand , with a partner bidding theirs the same, etc in all 12 boards - seemed like a long shot to me .

It is not technically according to the laws if players play a hand that they have played before.

In fact it is not technically according to the laws if players play a hand that has ever been played before.
