olliebol
[hv=d=n&v=n&s=s1093hkq10d9652ckj3]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] partner north opens strong club and r.h.o. follows 1spade ( promising spades and clubs), you double and l.h.o. jumps to 4 spades, partner bids 5 diamonds over that and it goes pass to you. Would you bid 6 ?
mohitz
Partner rates to have not more than 1 spade. I am going for 6♦. I feel lucky!
aguahombre
Did my double show 8+?
jjbrr
seems like an easy pass unless we misbid already.
quiddity
Obviously depends on what the double showed. If it showed 5+ balanced, I think you have to raise. You have 9 and they're all working.

helene_t
dbl probably shows 5+ or 4+. Was p in a forcong pass situation? If not, I bid 6.
bluecalm
Passsss. I assume dbl was game forcing ?If my agreements are than dbl is 6+ then well, I pass anyway and change the agreements after the hand.

Pict
I'd be content with the game. Many things can go wrong.
olliebol
Been searching but cant find meaning of double sorry. My guess is 4 or 5 plus since the player in question did bid six with this hand. Ricco van Prooyen playing with Louk Verhees against Israel for a match to determine the third pair for the E.C. in Oostende. Partner had A, xx, AKQXXX, Axxx , club queen right diamonds 2-2 tx for answers i would have passed this at the table.
cherdanno
I think this is a raise - LHO has diamonds and RHO has clubs so our finesses rate to be on.
bluecalm
While I think playing dbl as unlimited showing 5+ or something is weak agreement I don't think it matters much in this hand.If partner has some shape and a lot of diamonds he will bid 5♦ with the same hands opposite 6-7dbl, gf dbl and 5+dbl. If you disagree, can you give sample hand which bid 5♦ opposite GF double but pass opposite 6+ double ?
mich-b
IIRC the 1st round double was explained as "5-7 any, or 8+ balanced".
whereagles
pass, on grounds that if pard can make 6 opposite my hand, he could have bid it.
mohitz
pass, on grounds that if pard can make 6 opposite my hand, he could have bid it. LOL
ArtK78
6♦ is clear. I am playing partner for as little as A xx AKQxxx Axxx with the Club Q right and diamonds 2-2. Seriously, this is a complete guess. I would pass at the table, but not without misgivings. EDIT: This is what I get for copying part of someone else's post. I find it highly unlikely that the diamonds are 2-2 if we have a 10 card diamond fit.
jdonn
pass, on grounds that if pard can make 6 opposite my hand, he could have bid it. LOL Why is that a LOL? Out of all the comments he makes that one was about as true as any! Partner will take a chance on slam if there is no room to investigate and he has to guess and can make opposite a decent minimum response. Because we promised only a 5 count AND because our hand could be much worse even with the same values. I agree bidding 6 or not is a guess for responder. And why would partner play us for the worst possible hand in a competitive auction.
olliebol
I asked on the non natural system section on the forums the meaning of this double and got this answer: 1♣ (1♠) X: Is a Mild positive response, 7-8 AKQ points: AQQ, KKQ, AK which would be G.F. since 1♣ promises 17+ hcp unbalanced and 18+ hcp if balanced.
