Opps silent.

pass -- 1

1NT -- 3

4 -- pass[/hv]

T1: A, J, 5, 2

T2: 4, 2, 3, 6

T3: K, A, 2, 3

T4: A, 2, 5, 9

T5: K, 9, 4, 3

Agree/disagree with the pitch at T2?

Now do you play for East to have started with Q93, or to be unable to overruff the jack?

gut feeling is you should play the K now

taking spades only into account the ruff is more likelly I think, however even if you succeed on ruffing a heart in dummy, diamonds might split 1-5 making it close.

However if RHO had 5-5 in the minors he might had acted, and he might had switched to diamonds rather. I'd try the ruff.

Would have ruffed at trick 2 with the jack. Would not have cashed the DK.

Now we have restricted choice on the 98 in spades and we know LHO is unlikely to have a stiff diamond given the lead, so both these things point to RHO having the spade queen. Seems right to just play the SK. Given that we are going with this line, we shouldn't have cashed the DK since if the SK works we have a chance to squeeze RHO in the minors for all the remaining tricks.
