I would double to show 4 hearts. If partner bids diamonds, I will bid hearts and he may understoand that I have 2-5 in the majors.

If he bids heart, I raise. If he bids NT I raise, if he bids 2 ♠ I pass.

 

So the further bidding here will be

2 ♥ (pass) 2 ♠ all pass

 

If partner is not exactly on the same wavelength, he may pass 2 ♥, which is fine too.

2♥, partner may have 3 of them and if he has a singleton he won't pass often, as he knows I am unlikely to have 6. If he passes with 2 hearts he probably doesn't have 6 spades as with a (sub)mininimum he would have opened 2♠. I think 2♥ always takes us to our best fit. Besides I don't want to encourage p to bid 3♦ if LHO bids 3♣.

Me too but after I pass (and I would) many pards would re-open with 2 diamonds or 2 spades.

 

2nt (or 3 spades) by me now should lead to either 3nt or 4 spades. No gaurantees, but I like our chances.

I think planning to defend 2Cx at this vulnerability is very obvious. North has a clear pass, and south a clear reopening double even if North hesitated before passing.

we double very agressivelly at the 2 level yes, but you have to see what kind of overcalls they do here!
