To add to that: this is not that an attractive hand to open. We would either have to open our shorter suit (which I hate), or open 1D and we wouldn't be able to show 5 hearts.

Why open an 8-count while we can pass first and hopefully later show our 2-suiter?

Under my current partnership agreement, using multi-2s, this hand would be opened either:

1. 2 showing at least a 5/4 shape (not necessarily 5 hearts) and 6-10 HCP.

or

2. 2 to show a weak major and 6-10 HCP. Partner bids 2 with less than 16 HCP or 2 with 13+ HCP and 4 hearts. 2NT is ace asking.

As I am new to playing the multi-2 system proposed by my partner I would favour the option (use to weak 2s), while understanding the option has better potential (need to get use to the system).

If I was playing weak 2's I would PASS this hand as it does not have the appropriate quality and wait to see how the bidding progresses.

I am a B/I player.

I am not surprised no one opens this under ‘standard’ methods, but I did here and do routinely open any 65 hand with good results. I am not suggesting that this is good bridge but it is hard to resist with results like this.

Perhaps the anti partnership factor will cure me, I am also talking with my partner about these hands.

You would get there also after passing, actually. If partner opens 1H in 3rd you will obviously want to push to the 5 level, if he passes, you will michaels and then one of you will push.
