rogerclee
Would have opened 1N.

Jlall
Maybe they play weak NT. What I don't understand is a bidding problem with no vulnerability. AFAIK vulnerability is important, especially when considering whether to crack them or bid 3N.
Phil
Would have opened 1N. yup Me too, but the hand was given to me.
rogerclee
It looks like the hand has been corrected to an obvious pass at all colors.
jdonn
Yes thank you for the correction, much easier now.

rogerclee
As a side note I think it might be good to play in this specific auction: x = short heartspass = exactly 2 hearts4H = 3 hearts Thoughts? (I mean good from a theoretical perspective, not from a practical one.)

pooltuna
IMPs, vulnerability unknown. Corrected!!!! T♣ instead of the King!!!! KJxx Qx AK Txxxx 1♣ - (1♠) - 2♥ - (3♥) ? Well if X is a suggestion to partner to play 3♥ I do that

(I mean good from a theoretical perspective, not from a practical one.) Maybe if it's a forcing pass which I think is not clear (I mean over the anticipated 3♠ bid). Regardless of whether we are in a force the points are: 1) Partner might be prevented from bidding 4H when it's wrong and might also find some good decisions to play 5m.2) We will defend more accurately often.3) We will get more penalties and get 3Sx vs 3N decisions right more often.4) We can no longer show a minimum raise of hearts that is willing to defend 3S. (I assume without discussion, people play x = like a 3H bid).
jdonn
Oh yeah I was a little brain dead since we have a free action over 3♥. So no comment.
Phil
Pass seems normal enough. Pass - 4C by pard - pass. Now?
Jlall
Pass seems normal enough. Pass - 4C by pard - pass. Now? You mean 3S-4C? Or they passed the cue... I would bid 4H now

cherdanno
Of course I don't cooperate with partner's slam try. I hope 4H is a suggestion to play, not a cue, so I bid that.
