dicklont
Partner asks for a spade lead, so I give it to him.I have little faith in the outcome at this moment, but who knows, maybe p holds ♠AQ with ♥AKQ.

Agreed, this double is clear cut asking for a spade. Ours is not to reason why ...
655321
Heart, the same as I would have led without the double. Partner has made a penalty double, not a lead-directing double. Perhaps he didn't like their auction, anyway it doesn't sound as though they are confident about heart stoppers. Would partner have overcalled 2♥ with something like a 2542 10 count, perhaps KQJTx and an Ace? Perhaps he has a good 1444 and thinks all the suits are breaking badly and they are going down? Anyway, I don't know what partner has for his double but it doesn't matter, I am not being asked to lead a particular suit.
nige1
[hv=d=e&v=n&s=sj9832h1042d7cq753]133|100|Scoring: IMP1♦-1♠2♦-3♣3♦-3♠3NT- PARTNER DOUBLES!Opps bid unopposed until partner's irksome double...[/hv] IMO ♥x = 10, ♣x = 9, ♠x = 6, ♦ = 1. Normally, this kind of double is lead-directing but, in the context of this hand and this auction, it's hard to decide what to lead. Even if partner prefers something else, a heart lead may disrupt communications. Perhaps dummy is 6115 and declarer is 0472. These problems are more fun as polls. It's amusing to watch how popular the winning lead becomes, as soon as the full deal is published
Hanoi5
I have 5 spades and dummy will come up with either 6 or 5 very good ones, if partner holds ♠AQ♥AKQ hearts should give us 4 tricks. I'd lead a heart, too.

On that basis, you should be able to guarantee getting the contract down by leading a spade. You were marked for a heart lead anyway, so why would partner minimise his chances by doubling, if that was the lead required? As to the actual hand, that is normally an irrelevance that tends to distort the logic rather than add. whereagles
I think this is just a plain penalty double, probably based on a couple of diamond stops, with no particular lead-directing overtones. I'll lead the boring heart.
pooltuna
[hv=d=e&v=n&s=sj9832h1042d7cq753]133|100|Scoring: IMP1♦-1♠2♦-3♣3♦-3♠3NT- PARTNER DOUBLES![/hv] Opps bid unopposed until partner's irksome double... so let's see what has happened in the auction partner loved his ♥ suit so much he didn't bid them at every opportunity and he never found an X of ♠ yet he has the assets for our side, well most of them. I think the X is asking for a ♣ lead and I lead a small one
Finch
I don't think this double is asking for anything in particular. Partner has a good holding in diamonds (maybe something like QJ1098) very short spades and enough high cards to know that they are short on values and in a misfit with suits breaking badly. If I had short spades I would expect partner to have spades over, but not when I have 5 of them and dummy has shown 6. I would lead the card I was going to lead before partner doubled. That's probably a club, but I'm not particularly confident about it and a heart or even a diamond could well be right.

Their suits are breaking lousy (although I'd feel better if we could trade hands under the table). Pard probably has four hearts. We might be able to establish the 13th, and/or we will help attack the entries to the long diamonds.
