Too tired...Sorry! The bidding should be the same of course. I truly remember i have bid ♦ 3 times. Playing pairs, It was 22:25pm , nearly the close of the club. We were still running the last board.Feeling too tired, and respectful of my partner's bid,I let 7♦ go. Both 7♦ and 7♥ makes but we went home without seeing the IMP. Do you think we had the top ranking for this board? [hv=d=w&v=b&w=saqtxxhxxxxdxckjxx&e=skjxxxhxxdxxctxx]266|100|Scoring: IMPE-W Hands[/hv]Lead on my table: ♠A i ruffed it by ♦5 (should be ♦A) from dummy without blanking an eye, leading to my memory confusion. jukmoi
I dont see how you can make 7♥ and 7♦ by South on club lead requires a finesse or 22 ♦. You have to guess which. I would be surprised if more pairs than 1/10 will bid 7♦.
MinorKid
Lead a club from ♣K-J-x-x against grand slam?

It is our last board, so my partner put full chips to the table, to impress those reading the scores perhaps, and the bidding is within his imagination too. Jlall
7D is an excellent contract, you did well to bid it. 7H has no play.

jukmoi
Lead a club from ♣K-J-x-x against grand slam? Maybe not. Then again it is about 100 % that ♣A that will be in the dummy.

MinorKid
7D is an excellent contract, you did well to bid it. It was my favourite partner, a full time associate engineering student.Meanwhile i was just painting a picture to him. Gee i went home without waiting for the hand sheet. vuroth
Considering the enormous variance different fields can have, no idea if it's a good score or not. My guess would be that you're getting a decent score more times than not. I dont see how you can make 7♥ and 7♦ by South on club lead requires a finesse or 22 ♦. You have to guess which. Am I missing something, or is there a far, far better line than taking the club finesse?
ArtK78
A decent score? I would expect a superior score for bidding and making 7♦ on these cards at IMP scoring. Even at matchpoints it should be a good score, possibly a very good score.

jjbrr
I won't get to 7♥, but I will get to 7♦ via 5♠ 5NT (0) 6♣ (Q?) 7♦ (yes)
jdonn
7♦ and 7♥ are both completely cold, has the hand changed? Anyway I expect you scored GREAT for 7♦.

If it's 7, you don't care if partner hast he queen. If it's 6, you do care. Right? W
Jlall
7♦ and 7♥ are both completely cold, has the hand changed? Anyway I expect you scored GREAT for 7♦. Yeah the hand got edited while I was sleeping  7H still seems down on 5-1 hearts or a diamond ruff so completely cold is an overbid. IIRC 5-1 hearts is like 15 %, and 3-0 diamonds a certain way is like 10 %. Not trying to nitpick, that is very far from cold though!

There's no reason to expect him to have 7, although he certainly could have 7.
cherdanno
You would really rebid a Txxxxx suit opposite a 2♣ opener? I mean, I agree that the traditional "need KQXXXX to show a suit opposite 2♣" is ridiculous, but....

cherdanno
you wouldnt rebid ♦ with 3163? No I would bid 3N or 3S or 4H depending on my black suit holdings.
MinorKid
So far it is little possible that someone will make 7♥.We got our names in "top of the board" secure. By far i want to know 2 things:First:What is the norm contract would it be? Second:If someone instead hold ♠xx ♥Qx ♦QJTxxxx ♣xxis his bidding the same?can his partner visualize 7♥?
MinorKid
you wouldnt rebid ♦ with 3163? I will rebid ♦ if most strengh is in it. Afterall the bidding reaches the middle level so honor distribution is a big consideration for me. Partner would be very unlucky to find me with:♠xxx ♥x ♦xxxxxx ♣xxxwhere i should had bid second negative
