jjbrr
5NT is always pick a slam. I would bid 6♣ I agree with 2♥ but would not be suprised to be in the minority.
jillybean
5NT is always pick a slam. I would bid 6♣ Except when it's GSF :o
jjbrr
Does it look like GSF? Partner's missing ♦ honors and the AKQ of ♣ and a ♠ honor and still forcing to slam? Seems unlikely.
jdonn
5NT is pick a slam and I bid 6♣. Last round I bid 2NT instead of the cuebid.
P_Marlowe
Hi, I dont like the 2H bid, what ever it showes, I dont have it,what is wrong with 2NT?2NT showes what I have, a heart stopper, bal. shape, denyinga relevant suit length, a min NT opener (12-14). As the auction proceeds, you may well end up playing in a 7card fit on the 6 level. With kind regardsMarlowe
jillybean
So, is 5N pick a slam in 3 places ♦'s, ♣'s, NT?
jdonn
So, is 5N pick a slam in 3 places ♦'s, ♣'s, NT? At least two places. You bid 6♣ when that's what you prefer in case that's one of them. If partner bids 6♦ over that it's between diamonds and something higher. If you didn't like clubs you must bid 6♦ since partner's choice could potentially be the minors. aguahombre
This is not the companion hand to "Cause I'm Strong enough", but it certainly is related. But, as JD has already said: 2NT earlier, but 6C now. Picking a slam.
neilkaz
I've looked at the auction as posted and cannot come close to understanding it. I've checked on 2 different computers. Thx .. neilkaz ..
aguahombre
I've looked at the auction as posted and cannot come close to understanding it. I've checked on 2 different computers. Thx .. neilkaz .. the first round auction is shown for all four players. After that the OP only showed the balancing side's bids...the opps passed. Finch
Sorry to make life difficult, but I don't think it is pick a slam. If partner has more than one possible suit to offer, why did partner jump to 4D? If you are in the group of players that think 3D by partner would not have been forcing, then why did partner not re-cue with a two suiter? Anyway, how can partner possibly be interested in playing in a slam in clubs when we have AKQ of the suit? If you bid 6D you avoid any possible confusion. Even if partner thinks he's offering choice of slams, the only other possible suit is spades. Partner has shown a huge single-suiter in diamonds, so to me 5NT is grand slam force. Given my hand, I expect a club void opposite. The only hand I can construct even vaguely consistent with the auction is something like AQxxAKQJ10xxxx- where partner is relying on you for either the SK or some club goodies. I admit I wouldn't have bid the hand like that (I'd have cued 5H over 5D to look for the SK before trying GSF) but it makes some sort of vague sense.
