mikeh
Tonight I picked up a zero count early...but not a yarborough...I had a 10 and 2 9's. But it was an omen of sorts...midway through the same club game I held 643 65432 32 532. Anyone held a weaker hand?
1eyedjack
They don't come much stronger than that .... playing nullo or passant!

Mbodell
I don't think I've ever held more than a "super yarborough" (no card 9 or higher, but 8's are ok), which I've held several (4 or 5 different) times. A Yarborogh (no card T or higher) comes up once every 1,828 hands for each player. A super Yarborogh (no card 9 or higher) comes up once every 16,960 hands. No card 8 or higher is once every 254,398 hands. Your hand was no card 7 or higher which is once every 8,191,609 hands. No card 6 or higher, which "beats" yours, is once every 1,133,952,785 hands. No card 5 or higher is a misdeal as it only gives you 12 cards. :(
effervesce
The high card equivalent (2=A, 3=K, etc) of Mikeh's hand would be KQT AKQJT AK AKJ... wow
dcohio
You had a straight flush! That's a great hand... oh wait... wrong game Actually, if playing chinese poker your hand is pretty good and probably wins 2/3 ♥65432 65432
Phil
Swiss match after we got knocked out of the GNTs - Great Falls, MT circa 1984. Held two 8's as my highest cards. What is really weird is the very next hand was another yarb - it held one 9.
Fluffy
I remember a hand with just 1 nine, however it also contained 6 hearts and a singleton.

gwnn
another weird and absurd accusation by the Tuna. I really don't know what gave you this impression.

MarkDean
I have had an 8 high hand, but never 7. 30 HCP when reversed is also much more than any hand I have had.
rogerclee
Probability of no 7 or higher = 0.00000018, or about 1 in every 5.4 million hands.
MarkDean
Probability of no 7 or higher = 0.00000018, or about 1 in every 5.4 million hands. Not sure how you got that number...we have 20 cards to pick 13 from, so I get 20C13/52C13, or about 1 in 8.2 million.

Dirk Kuijt
In our lunch time bridge game, we used to keep track of this statistic, among others. I believe the "winning" hand, in this contest, was 8 high. We wrote down all the spots, but I don't have them with me. This was over about 12-14 hands a day, 200 days a year, for 10 years or so. neilkaz
My worst hand had two 7's and the other 11 smaller and was 4333.
