1 - 2 - P - 2

P - 3 - P - ?

If it matters, partner has a greater tendency than most to have a 6th here, otherwise assume normal bidding.

Edit: Part 2 for the 3N bidders:

You managed to bid 3N in tempo, passed around to RHO who whips. Now what?

I'd bid 3NT. All those looks sort of bad for a contract, and this looks like a 9-trick hand.

Agree. Partner doesn't have to pass 3N either.

and that is the key. your 2s already showed heart support. Now you have involved partner, who can pass 3NT or bid 4H.

3N looks reasonable here, since we're vul at IMPs. I think I sit for the double; if partner gets scared and runs (spade void or something), that's OK too.

At pairs, or with any of a large number of habitual light overcallers as my partner, it'd be a pass.

your 2s already showed heart support.

Not necessarily. You are an unpassed hand.

Sorry, I should have said "My 2S showed heart support."

This wasn't initially true when I bid 2S, but it became true when I bid 3NT. Else I would have bid 3NT the first time.

Yo waterboy what would you bid on http://forums.bridgebase.com/index.php?showtopic=29981 ? :)

1) "Waterboy" is something I got used to hearing in the first grade.

2) Would bid 2S, but pass 3H with the OP's conditions. You might not like that answer, but you asked what I would do, not what I think others would do.

Of course a lot depends on what partner would bid after the 2S bid with various hands. Again, everything depends on other things.

I hope I didn't offend you, I certainly didn't mean to. So do you promise 3 hearts with 2S or not? In the thread I linked to you apparently bid 2 on a doubleton.

No offense taken...after 60 years, I am fine with it.

See earlier post: It is in retrospect, after the 3NT bid in the given auction, that I have shown heart support. Without heart support, but with spades stopped, I would not have cue'd.

I don't think you are suggesting that with the linked hand (XXX XX in the Majors and a chunky ten count) you would want to bid 3NT after cueing and not getting a NT call from pard, so the two holdings are two different subjects.

You get a low (4th best from 4, if honest card) lead if you bid 3N and sit for the double.

You happy with your choice?

Can I be happy with my choice of 3NT and a little less than thrilled with partner's overcall? I think 2H should be a little better red at imps.
