ArtK78
(2D)-4NT? 2D isa. diamonds weakb. diamonds intermediatec. diamonds strong I assume that the 4NT call was an overcall to 2♦ and not a response. First, it is bizarre and an invitation to disaster regardless of whether it has a worthwhile meaning. Second, over a weak or even an intermediate 2♦ opening, since with a very strong balanced hand I would expect direct seat to double, the 4NT bid must show 10 playing tricks, a very strong hand, and a high card (A or K) control in diamonds. Something like: AQ AQ Kx AKQJTxx This would allow advancer to properly evaluate his aces and kings as tricks for slam purposes. Over a strong 2♦ opening the 4NT bid is a puzzlement. It must show a wildly distributional hand with clubs and a major, but I can't imagine why someone would want to by-pass the 4 level to show this. gwnn
já, 2D opening on your right and you bid 4NT.
Codo
I had take it as clubs and diamonds over 2 ♥ or 2 ♠, so I would take it as clubs and hearts now.
jjbrr
If 4♣ is ♣+M, this DNE imo. If 4♣ is just ♣, this should be ♣+M.

kfay
GAH!!! Thought I could out-search the search master. But there was definitely a post somewhere where Helene talked about this bid in the context of leaping michaels.

Fluffy
11 sure tricks in clubs or a major, bid 5♣ without aces and be prepared to raise 5M with the king of trumps. If 2♦ is strong then it is clubs and a major
Cyberyeti
Same as a 4N opener over weak/intermediate, not sure over strong.
neilkaz
Blackwood for me..a hand that wants to know how many aces pard has and then can place the contract. Ace asking before the possible bump to 5♦ from LHO.
