TylerE
♠ QJxx♥ AQJ9xx♦ -♣ AKx You deal, RvW, Swiss Teams 1♥ - (2N)[1] - 4N[2] - (5♣)6♥[3]) - (p) - p - (7♣)? [1] - Minors[2] - 3014 for ♥[3] - Neither dealing with interference or showing voids over RKC discussed
whereagles
Seems easy. We have no way to know pard has the keycards, so double. Besides, we really need the ♠AK with pard, for if he has but the spade ace, the spade finesse is unlikely to be right. Finally, pard is likely to have the ♦A or K, given he keycarded. Those are bad cards for him to have.
billw55
6♥ was already a bit of a guess. Who knows, maybe they made a PhantomSac. lol
PhantomSac
I would certainly have bid 7H over 5C, and expected it to be a claimer. Now I would bid 7H.
PhantomSac
Can people construct a hand where 7H is not good? Kx Kxxxxx AKQx x is the best I could come up with. That hand is quite unlikely given that LHO showed the minors, but I guess it's possible. Seems much more likely partner has AK K in the majors with a stiff club and some diamond cards like 95+ % of the time.
Fluffy
If you weren't worth 7♥ the round before, you were at least worth 6♣/♦ If you don't think you are worth 7♥ now, you still are worth a pass at least! But I think 7♥ is right on the money, bidding anything else is overthinking (wich I confess I do quite often) looking for teh hand that doesn't make instead of the hundred hands that do make. Partner is suposed to have a source of tricks for a 4NT jump I wonder wich is it, maybe ♠AKxxxx?, the only possible keycard missing IMO is ♥K
jjbrr
I would certainly have bid 7H over 5C, and expected it to be a claimer. Now I would bid 7H. Ya. +1. This hand is like an ace, a void, and an extra trump better than expected. What more could you want?
Pict
Can't see any reason why partner has K♠ (convinced he has A,K...,A,x singleton). Crapshoot?
Fluffy
Can't see any reason why partner has K♠ (convinced he has A,K...,A,x singleton). Crapshoot? take it this way, you just need the king not to be on RHO's hands, given that LHO has a 2 suiter it is more or less 3/6 or 4/7 on partner's or LHO's hand, odds on. But also add that 4NT is not bid on hands not pure power, but a source of tricks, guess wich is the source of tricks, and find out who has ♠K. effervesce
Agree auto 7♥ bid (on the previous round). Can't understand X - you want to at least show grand slam interest and pass would show that.
Codo
I learned something here. At the table I had just doubled, but I am convinced now that 7 ♥ is odds on.
