CSGibson
[hv=d=w&v=b&n=st98hj9543dk953c8&s=saj7653hdaqcaqt32]133|200|Scoring: MP(P)-P-(1♦)-1♠,(X)-2♠-(P)-6♠,All Pass[/hv] Opps are intermediate players, X was standard negative double showing hearts. Jack of diamonds is led. Thoughts on the best line? Edit - I'll give some continuations after I get some sleep and see what people post. gnasher
My first thought was(1) Win the king, club finesse, club ruff, spade finesse, planning to take five spades, two diamonds, two top clubs, two club ruffs and one long club. That needs the club right, clubs 4-3, and spades being x-KQx, xx-KQ or H-Hxx (with Hx on the left, LHO can return a trump when he's in). Or, some slight variations:(2) Win the king, club finesse, club ruff, spade to the ace, club ruff. The same, but works against spades 2-2 or singleton honour. (3) Win the king, club finesse, club ruff, heart ruff, club ruff, spade finesse. Works against spades x-KQx, xx-KQ, or other 2-2 breaks with the long club on my right. So far, I prefer (2). CSGibson
I went with Gnasher's line 2. I consider it unfortunate that the club K was offsides, but was still wondering if it was a reasonable line given the bidding.
