rogerclee
I'd double and sit for 3N (sort of unhappily). Thanks for giving me two bullets.
cloa513
What's the vulnurability?
PhantomSac
I'd double also, seems pretty lol with a 9 count but this hand has not only aces but ridiculously amazing spots, a club void etc just seems like I have to bid.
the hog
Double, but not thrilled about it.
jjbrr
i'm pretty sure at the table id be a wuss and pass. apparently i should reconsider!
lmilne
double on the forums, might also get wussy irl vul...
peachy
Dbl. I would not like it much to defend with a void in trumps in case partner left it in. Pass has more downside if we miss our vul game.
flytoox
easy pass. pd is still there. no rush for the moment.
pooltuna
i'm pretty sure at the table id be a wuss and pass. apparently i should reconsider! This is my Touc on it too. I wouldn't mind Xing so much, but I am not sure I really want partner to jump to 6♥ in a contested auction
ggwhiz
Pass, mostly a partnership thing. The chance of MY partner stopping in a plus score if I double are remote and if pard has 3 spades and 4 hearts (or 4-4 and a simple 3 heart bid) you will be doomed on the get go. If pard has a modest club stack in a balanced hand, minus 670 or 870 is in play.
MinorKid
This case is marginal between Pass and Double. In our style, An overcall here is a opening hand and a takeout Dbl is 16+DP(11+DP with void , +1 DP for each 5th 6th ... card in any suit). It depents on what actions your partner are likely to take. Playing with my slammish partner i will choose to Pass.
P_Marlowe
Hi, Pass. I I decide to double and p bids 3NT, than he will play it, because if I bid over 3NT, I will show a huge hand, which I dont have. With kind regardsMarlowe
Fluffy
pass for now, and punish partner for reopening later
Hanoi5
My first impression was to pass, double and 3♠ other possibilities. I think I'll stick to pass even though double looks better now that it has been 'supported'. I hope partner reopens, 4♣ over 3NT then, 4♠ over double. gwnn
I am 100% sure I'd pass this hand. I wish I could double etc.
louisg
Dealer: East Vul: Both Scoring: IMP ♠ JT863 ♥ AT8 ♦ AT975 ♣ [space] RHO opens 3C. Your call? If you double, are you sitting for 3NT? If not, what is your plan?OK, so there is significant support for both pass and double (sitting for 3NT), and none for any other action. Partner's hand is: AKxxxQxxxxKxx If you pass you get to defend 3C, and if you double you get to be dummy in 3NT. Without knowing the opponents' hands, which position would you prefer to be in? Yes, I know you'd rather be playing 5D, or even 4S, but that's why people preempt ;)
gwnn
i'd rather defend 3C, I might get a plus score and I will never get an epic minus score.

I wouldn't mind Xing so much, but I am not sure I really want partner to jump to 6♥ in a contested auction Are you serious? I would be delighted if partner jumped to 6H, because it will make. I have great support - 2 Aces and a void!
effervesce
Im a passer. Most hands that we have game on, partner will bid on in passout seat - for example, balanced 15ish count with club stopper partner will bid 3NT, over which you can bid 4♣ then 4♠ showing a two-suiter (hopefully). I have great support - 2 Aces and a void! great support is not the same as having the hand you said you did and 6♥ is often based on a lot of guesswork on his part and expecting his partner to actually hold high cards
Fluffy
Partner's hand is: AKxxxQxxxxKxx If you pass you get to defend 3C, and if you double you get to be dummy in 3NT. This is the kind of hand where neither player should act in live position, but both must reopen.
helene_t
What do you think partner should bid then? 3♦? I would pass. With the OP hand (direct seat) I would dbl. Maybe 3♠ is better but since nobody mentions that I suppose not.
Fluffy
yes, 3♦, and an easy auction to 4♠. But as always I have to point that my live overcalls are sound and my reopenings are sick to catch up.
MinorKid
Gee looks like i "have to" bid 3♦.... and of course my p shoots. Anyway my p sitting pass-out will normally re-open.
