Bid on or Pass ?

I'd bid 2 whether playing four card majors or not. Second choice 3. But 1 is definitely ahead of pass.

If pard opened with a 4 4 3 2 hand (4-4 in majors), 1H will probably work better than a diamond raise. No matter what strength and or length you use for 2 or 3 diamonds, those bids could work out very badly on this hand for the same reasons.

1 for me. But, partner wouldn't have that hand, though. That's a 2NT opening (20-21), IMO. Control-rich, two 10's, not 4-3-3-3. If this was an assess-the-blame, Opener would get a few percentage points from me. I mean, passing 1 is weird, but 2NT seems like a batter opening, IMO.

Was it 3-2 hearts with the DK offside? If so, the 3D (and 2D?) bidders get what they deserve.

Pardon? The only difference is that those of us who raised diamonds are going to play 4 from the strong hand. This would normally be a good thing except this time partner happens to have 19 HCP with no tenaces.

What is your auction after 1D-2D or 1D-3D?
