grinoscar
I am having troubles staying connected for the length of a tournament. Especially soon after a table/opponent switch I receive a connection lost message. Then I can immediately sign back in. This is very annoying and distracting. I have a LinkSys router between my computer and a cable modem. Are there any ports I specifically need to open through my firewall from the outside? Could this issue be caused by something else? How do I check it out? Thanks, grinoscarGlenn Howald
uday
So do i. BBO uses a single connection from the PC to the server. if it can connect at all, that port is open. The question is really, "what is causing the disconnections". It could be network related, it could be (possibly) a bug in the program. If you caould nreliably reproduce this dropped connection, we'd be very interested. We're interested anyway, but there are many possible causes. Are you saying that if you just sit in the lobby you can stay connected for hours, but if you move from table to table you are likely to get booted? grinoscar
No, It appears that while I am in the lobby I am experiencing some disconnections. I played a few hands in the Main Bridge Club and was disconnected once. While I was on the ACBL 8:00 tournament tonight, the problem was happening about once or twice a round. After I reconnected and kibitzed, I didn't get disconnected at all.
ack_hh
Have you checked your PC for viruses/adware/spyware/malware?
grinoscar
I just installed SpySweeper and there were TOO MANY AdWare/SpyWare programs installed. After I quarantined them it seens to be working better. Thank You for the suggestion.
