Aberlour10
True but I was surprised to find myself cheering for Canada in the Olympics so, since I am apparently not a real American yet, I don't see how I can consider myself a Las Vegan :)Living for decades between Poland and Germany brings some kind of strange psyche split by supporting sport teams from both countries. If Poland play vs Germany a football match I always cross the fingers for Germany, what I never would do watching handball, volleyball... when these teams meet... strange indeed or? :)
benlessard
If you like psych you should really watch "Better off Ted" wich is the best quirky humor show ive seen in a long time.
JoAnneM
I like all of the characters on the Mentalist, they are a great ensemble. I also like Criminal Minds, does anyone watch that? We just found it this year so don't know how long it has been on. As for leads, no one outshines Simon Baker!

There is nothing = NOTHING I SAY! - to match Better Off Ted! And Portia di Rossi? Wow! She was on Ally McBeal and ...? Well, comedy-wise it's BOT, drama-wise it is Dexter, on the same sat channel as was the great Dead Like Me. However, Psych is for the brain-dead hemisphere within your cranium, Ted for the superior hemisphere, the one alive and brilliant.

Lobowolf
Also, I prefer Whoppers to Big Macs. Me too - not even close  Fred GitelmanBridge Base Inc.www.bridgebase.com In and out?? You live in Vegas!True but I was surprised to find myself cheering for Canada in the Olympics so, since I am apparently not a real American yet, I don't see how I can consider myself a Las Vegan :( Nonetheless, I do like In and Out and also Fatburger (but what a dumb name!). Fred GitelmanBridge Base Inc.www.bridgebase.com Kind of weird to see "Vegan" "Fatburger" and "In and Out" all in the same mouthful, as it were. In my pre-vegetarian days, I'd take Tommy's over the other two, but all three are pretty tasty.
Mbodell
If you like psych you should really watch "Better off Ted" wich is the best quirky humor show ive seen in a long time. There is nothing = NOTHING I SAY! - to match Better Off Ted! And Portia di Rossi? I agree that Better off Ted is terrific. I literally laugh out loud watching that show nearly every time. I absolutely love the Veridian Dynamics videos. Veridian Dynamics. Friendship. It's so important. But it's different at work. Time spent with friends at work robs your employer of opportunity. And robbing people is wrong. Veridian Dynamics. Friendship. It's the same as stealing. I think my favorite episode is the Racial Sensitivity episode from season one that has the automatic sensors to open doors and turn off lights that work perfectly except for the problem of not seeing black people. Ted: The system doesn't see black people? Veronica: I know. Weird, huh? Ted: That's more than weird, Veronica. That's basically, well... racist. Veronica: The company's position is that it's actually the opposite of racist, because it's not targeting black people. It's just ignoring them. They insist the worst people can call it is "indifferent." Ted: Well, they know it has to be fixed, right? Please... at least say they know that. Veronica: Of course they do, and they're working on it. In the meantime they'd like everyone to celebrate the fact that it sees Hispanics, Asians, Pacific Islanders, and Jews. So yes to Better Off Ted. And also yes to Dead Like Me. And I haven't watched Dexter but I hear good things about it. But I still maintain that both Psych and the Mentalist are good programs, and that Psych is in fact the better of the two.

fred
Deadwood, The Wire, Dexter.I think both The Wire and Dexter are great shows. I have never seen Deadwood, but since I like the other 2 programs you mention so much, I think I will check it out :) Here are some other TV shows I have enjoyed in recent years (in no particular order): - The Shield- Weeds- Battlestar Galactica- Law and Order (various flavors)- The Daily Show- South Park Fred GitelmanBridge Base Inc.www.bridgebase.com
Al_U_Card
The Shield was great as was BG. I don't like "westerns" but Deadwood was amazingly good. Ian McShane led a superb cast. The grit and reality was finely woven into the tapestry of the storyline.
PassedOut
I enjoy Dexter and Weeds and liked Deadwood a lot. Battlestar Galactica was often interesting, so have started with Caprica. Sometimes catch the Daily Show for laughs. Never seen Psych or Mentalist or any of the other shows mentioned, so I'm in my usual out-of-touch state in that respect. (Come to think of it, can't remember eating either a Big Mac or a Whopper.) :)

barmar
Dexter has certainly been great, but I wonder what it will be like next season without Julie Benz (who's lately been making me drool on Desperate Housewives, she's had several scenes stripped down to sexy lingerie, and she has the body to carry it off). Better Off Ted is about the best quirky comedy ever, I like it better than Arrested Development. It hasn't been officially cancelled yet, but I'm not sure how likely it is to come back next season (most of the stars have been cast provisionally in other shows). But my favorite sitcom is The Big Bang Theory. Last night was a very good episode. I thought Raj's sound effects were lame at first, but they got better and by the end his role reminded me of Harpo Marx.

Well, maybe if they had mde a practice of stripping her down to sexy lingerie. Too bad Dexter had to kill off that gorgeous psycho from a couple seasons ago. David Boreanaz has parlayed that role into Booth on Bones and is doing a fine job there as well.

One of these days I'm gonna have to watch 'em again. The last episode of both series was epic. B) I have 10 episodes left of the last season of buffy, and angel is almost done downloading as we speak. Had I known it was gonna be epic I woulda watched the episodes as they aired so I could get the crossovers, but w/e. For people who have never watched it, here's a run down... Buffy season 1 is a little slow but it's entertaining, seasons 2 and 3 are "classic" buffy, a little bit silly but 2 of the best seasons of TV ever (I would rank season 2 as the best). Buffy and her friends just trying to find their way, and a great love story. The dialogue is perfect, and the story archs are really really good. After that the story archs become worse and the end villains less cool, but the character development is amazing. You really watch them grow up and mature, and the content becomes a lot deeper and darker. Magic is introduced for instance, and other dark forces. It goes away from it's vintage formula, but it's like seeing your own children kind of grow up. It's just brilliantly done. I'm not done with season 7, but season 6 was incredibly chilling to me. At that point it was more about the characters and what they go through, and less about the villains. Don't want to spoiler people, but youre in for a treat if you haven't watched it yet. I hope they end it well, glad blackshoe said the last episode was amazing.

I didn't believe people at first, but I started watching around season 3 and went back and caught up. I'm not sure Buffy would be number 2 all time, but it is pretty high up there. I'd say: The WireBattlestar GalacticaVeronica MarsRomeFirefly are probably my top 5 in order. But you'd have lots of other contenders including Buffy, Dead Like Me, Deep Space Nine, Star Trek Next Generation, Deadwood, Gilmore Girls, Angel, Babylon 5, Psych, Better Off Ted, early Scrubs, Big Bang Theory, Seinfeld, Sopranos, Weeds, etc.
