System 5°major diamond 4°

[hv=d=n&v=n&s=sqj3hkj1065dkq2c106]133|100|Scoring: MP[/hv]

1 (pass) 1 (pass)

2nt (pass) ? what bid south?

I should communicate that the hearts are 5° and that have the points, therefore should change color therefore 3 or 3. But 3 is Stayman and i not have or 3 is support weak diamond. What to do?

Thanks to all for the help :)

Revise your system. Consider some version of Wolff signoff.

Until then, bid 3N

Saying he should bid 3NT misses the point of the question IMO, which is that if 3 is checking back it doesn't promise 4 spades as the OP seems to believe, it can be (and usually is) based on 5 hearts checking back for a 3 card fit.

It may be a language issue, but I interpreted "what bid south?" to mean "what bid south?" which is the question I and others provided an answer for.

I, personally, hoped that my failure to address what 3 should be would imply that 3 is not what I think OP should bid, and therefore shouldn't be a concern. If OP wanted to know what 3 should mean, it seems more effective to not give a hand that shouldn't bid 3, or to use the handy search feature to find other threads that deal with the topic.

I agree you answered the question. I didn't say you didn't, I just said you missed the point. Maybe my interpretation of "But 3♣ is Stayman" is off, but I took "3♣ is stayman" to mean the OP thinks 3 promises 4 spades and "but" to mean that therefore he had no way to check back for a heart fit. So letting him know 3 doesn't promise 4 spades and can be used to check back for a heart fit addresses his concern IMO.
