As previous 40 years ago problem posted on same section seems not solved perhaps people may try this one.

Your 1NT intervened with 2 natural single suited by West. Partner bid 3. East passed. But when you land into 3NT righty changed his mind and doubled.

K led. As followed general principles of unblocking the eight, east contributed with the nine while you ducked.

Now West switched ten, won in hand. Played a . East won with the K. Played a . So obviously are 6-1. After winning in the hand did exit with another . West won with his Ace and sent to Q.

Do you feel you are nearly at home?

Seems too easy, hidden follows

Presuming I've read this correctly and everybody's followed to everything, LHO has 6 spades, 3 hearts and 2 diamonds, so no more than 2 clubs. Cash the 2 diamond winners and the AC.

The plan is to cash the K and exit by ducking a spade in both hands, but there is one wrinkle. It is just possible that W has decided KQ10xxx, 109xx is one suited.

If so, and he follows to only two diamonds and blows on the second club, provided his singleton club was the Q, J or 9, you can endplay his partner in clubs instead.

If the opponent with 6s also has 3/4s you may have trouble cashing your Ace if he ducks your to the 8 (if he has any s left he's not endplayed and if he doesn't you have no entry to dummy). That's why you need to unblock the 8?

On the hand given, retaining 8 doesn't cost, but gives up the second layout you can succeed on in my solution above. The trouble is that if you lead the 8 from dummy at trick 11 and run it, W will duck and you have to give 2 clubs to E.

If you've left the 8 on the deck, you have to throw it away on the 4th diamond, play 2 clubs finishing in hand and lead a small spade from hand.
