in this hand from a GIB IMP tournament defending against 5 W plays K then switch to A and E plays the K!!!

after this, on the remaining diamonds played by S, E discarded two , permitting to S to realize his 5!!!

All I can think of is that it was trying to avoid being enplayed, and playing for west to have Q or Kxx.

 

GIB doesn't understand that just setting the contract is good enough at IMPs. It must have dealt out enough hands where the contract goes down 2 as long as it avoids the endplay.

 

The pitches were because it was squeezed in the round suits.
