Fluffy
♠AJx♥109x♦KQxx♣KJx ♠Qx♥AKQxx♦Jx♣AQxx EDIT: a 4th club appears. dealer south, vulnerable EW after a strong 1♣ opening, west overcalls a "take out" 1♥ (accepts all suits but hearts), east escapes to 1♠. you end up on 6♥, opponents lead ♣10, you win the ♣A and cash ♥A, nothing happens so far, take it from there. hrothgar
Diamond to the King (You will probably lose to the Ace)Win the return, cross to dummy and run the 10 of Hearts
Pict
I would not like to trust West to hold a singleton heart rather than Jx. But it doesn't cost to play the Jack of diamonds. If West wins and plays a spade, North wins the Ace and it's already decision time in hearts - I'll play for 2-3. If East wins the diamond I can win a second diamond, and ruff a small diamond. If East shows out, I'll play West for a singleton heart.

gnasher
A prori, x=Jxxx is 5/6 as likely as Jx=xxx. If having a singleton would increase the chance that LHO would bid by more than 20%, it's correct to finesse. That seems pretty clear. Pict
OK guys. When dummy goes down, you need to decide if oppo is just very crazy or extremely crazy. Some of the percentages could reach vanishing point. I still like my technical line, but can easily relate to the finesse.
nigel_k
I would finesse. Obviously it would help to know more about their defence to the strong club and how they use it as well as their aggressiveness in general, but in the end I doubt that I would play for the drop regardless. Some people might bid vulnerable with a 4432 shape and few values but surely they would often pass. At different vulnerability it would be harder. MFA
Most obvious finesse since the fall of the Berlin wall.Having said that it will be no surprise to me when west turns up with ♥Jx, because why should bridge on the forums be any different than that in real life? Fluffy
you are missing the main point, you have no safe way to reach dummy

hanp
Curious, I've rarely seen so much discussion on how to play a hand with 12 cards.
gnasher
Now that we've got the whole of South's hand, can we have the full auction too? When LHO doesn't lead a spade, it probably means that he has the king, but it does depend on what we showed and what bids East had a chance to double.
