mohitz
None vulnerable, IMPs, 1♣ - (1♠) - X - (3♠)X - (4♠) - p - p? Is partner's pass forcing? What is your call holding x Kxx K9xx AKQTx? EDIT: 3S is preemptive

PhantomSac
Why would this be forcing? Pass, you probably have 2 tricks on defense, hopefully 3, then maybe you can set them 1.
Codo
Not forcing and I would bid 4 NT to show good clubs with secondary diamonds. (Even if partner double promised diamonds I would not bid them :)
gnasher
It's not forcing as standard. However, I'd quite like to play it as forcing. We're known to have the balance of the points and we've just contracted to play at the four level with the expectation of making. Opposite a non-forcing pass, I'd pass, having bid my hand already. Siegmund
Not forcing, and my call is "no questions partner." My distribution is exactly what my previous double said I had IMO.
jdonn
I think you can argue it should be forcing, but I wouldn't assume it were so. There are other situations where the partnership's minimum values are opening bid + response + one player has something more than that where it is far from absurd to play pass as forcing at this level. kenrexford
Forcing? Just weird, IMO.

PhantomSac
Forcing? Just weird, IMO. Seriously. Gnasher is the best poster ever, but I cannot disagree with him more in basically every forcing pass thread!
Hanoi5
I'd bid 4NT but don't consider pass to be forcing.

I agree that East has shown his hand already. Perhaps West should have taken some action over 4S. Or perhaps its just unlucky that they make 4S. jukmoi
5♦ is -2 so its not a big deal. IMO not worth the risk of both contracts going down.
helene_t
I was about to say that I thought it should be forcing, considering that we have already forced to game or 4m in a situation where we have no guarantee of a good fit. Then I looked at the actual West hand and was happy that pass is non-forcing.
rogerclee
IMO west's pass was completely routine, saving in 5D at equal vul with a balanced hand and 0 controls seems extremely dumb to me.

jdonn
This is kind of why I don't understand why people are so passionate about their forcing pass preferences, as though any other way is ridiculous. Here we have a perfectly normal hand with nothing special about it where if pass is not forcing you go -420 instead of -100. I still don't think it would be ridiculous to include agreements where a pass here is forcing. Although I still have to admit it would not have been for me. pooltuna
not forcing and I am inclined to just pass.
lilboyman
Just wondering, does everyone agree with west's negative double at IMPs?
barmar
I consider the negative double routine at any form of scoring, although it's a very minimum for the bid.
