None vul at matchpoints

South should double. There are no guarantees but you have good defence, an expectation that your side will often make 110, and it's unlikely -140 will be worth much.

 

Also I would have bid 2 with North instead of passing 1NT but I don't know if this is relevant to the outcome.

Agree all around. I think south has to double, it seems you were making 3 since your hand is so good for it and also that most EW pairs won't bid 3, so this is really a case of protecting your score. I mean north having the king of hearts and out is probably setting them on a heart ruff (since south expects north to have 4 hearts) so I don't even think it's that risky.

Hi,

 

Either North or South should hit 3S.

They were content to play 2S, for that matter West was not even willing

to bid 2S over 1NT , East was not willing to raise, just hit it, accept that

sometimes they make X=, just keep in mind that you are playing MP.

 

I would also bid 2D, although showing the fit may make it easier for

them to bal, ...., what ever, I think Pass is ok.
