rogerclee
w/r KQxxxx AQx KJx x P 3D ? At IMPs? At MPs?
whereagles
3♠. Pard probably has a couple of spades and will raise this with a non-worthless hand.
jdonn
Really?
JohnnyH7
Is 4S an option with this hand? I see many hands that partner can pass 3S with that make game, especially in the "6-7 HCP" range that we're supposed to play partner for when they preempt. Codo
3 ♠ and partner surely raises with support.
karlson
3♠ at mp for sure. At imps, I don't think it's a wtp, but I'd bid 3♠ still.

I don't think you should assume a 6-7 count where everything is working. Axx xxxx xx Kxxx will look like a nice 7-count to partner, but game is hopeless. the hog
3S. I can't believe that this isn't unanimous.

Come to think of it, given that he is unlikely to have two aces in front of partner, but opened 3D second in hand, this is quite a likely hand for him. And swap partner's rounded suits around and game is almost solid. But I would bid 3S on the hand as well; I can blame partner when she raises with the wrong hand. fachiru
I'm going againts the flow here with 3N.
rogerclee
At the table at MP I did bid 3N and went down 2 (could have been 3). It was a weird average minus; partner had AJTxx Jxx xxx Jx, and the opponents are cold for 5C (LHO is 1606). For what it's worth I gave this hand at MP to three friends of mine (including two national champions) and everyone thought 3N was reasonable, but two of them preferred 3S and one had no strong opinion. From what I know you gave this hand to 1 national champion (not saying there weren't more of course, just talking about what I'm aware of) and he gave it to another national champion, and both laughed at 3NT. But one thought 4♠ was reasonable.

To be complete I should have included our mutual national champion friend, who thought 3N was absurd.
Jlall
Mutual friends opinion doesn't count for much when he is a 4S bidder though... o wait that's me.
